Born and raised in Togo and living in Portugal for over a decade, Naky is the creator of African Lisbon Tour — a project born from a passion for highlighting the city’s often-overlooked African history and diaspora.
Through years of research and deep community connections, Naky brings to life the stories, places, and cultural influences that have shaped Lisbon beyond the traditional narrative.

Our Story
African Lisbon Tour was born from a simple observation: most tours of Lisbon stop at the postcard — the monuments, the viewpoints, the expected narrative. But beyond that lies another story, woven through neighborhoods, kitchens, and everyday life, shaping what it means to be Black in Portugal today.
Founded by Naky, the tour was created to bring that story to light — not as distant history, but as a living presence. Lisbon’s African heritage is not only part of the past; it continues to shape the city’s present and future.
