This isn't your typical tour.

Most Lisbon tours show you the monuments, the postcard views, the version that tourists expect. We show you something else - the history that built this city, told through the lens of its African heritage.

From the flavours of Afro-Portuguese cuisine to the stories of the diaspora community, this tour reveals the layers of Lisbon that most visitors never see.

It's not just a tour. It's a perspective shift.

Day-of Prep

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early. Naky starts on time and early arrivals get the best spot for the opening story.
  • Wear your most comfortable walking shoes. You'll cover roughly 4 km on Lisbon's characteristic cobblestone - trainers or well-worn flats are ideal.
  • Pack a light rain layer. Lisbon weather shifts fast, especially Nov-Apr. A compact jacket takes 30 seconds to put on and saves the experience.
  • Bring €10-20 in cash. The food tasting is included, but local stalls and community shops are cash-only. ATMs are scarce in Mouraria.
  • ~235 stairs across the route. There is no wheelchair-accessible alternative for several sections. Contact us before booking if you have mobility concerns.
  • Maximum 8 guests per tour. This is a deliberate cap - it keeps conversations real and lets Naky introduce you to people, not just places.
  • Children are welcome from age 8+. The content is rich but accessible. Under-12s are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
  • No photography of individuals without asking. This is a living community. Naky will guide you on what's appropriate - just follow his lead.
