During this half-day tour, the African Lisbon Tour covers the history of Portugal from the 15th Century, the beginning of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, to its abolition in the 20th Century.

During the 4-hour walk, we revisit the history and on the basis of documents, we discuss without taboos.

The tour begins in downtown Lisbon ( Praça do comércio) and ends at a restaurant where you will end the day with an authentic African meal, ending the tour having experienced Lisbon from a perspective that cannot be found anywhere else.
The tour began in 2014 when Naky Gaglo, a passionate about the history of the slave trade and colonization realized that a myth surrounded these stories and the contributions of Africans were completely erased from the curricula, monuments, museums and public spaces of Portugal.
